French Embassy Honours Ghanaian Athletes from Paris 2024 Olympics

The French Embassy in Ghana hosted a special ceremony on October 3, 2024, at the Alliance Française in Accra to honour Ghanaian athletes who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The event celebrated the athletes’ efforts and underscored the deep sporting and cultural ties between Ghana and France. Diplomatic figures such as Deputy French Ambassador Rafael Pont, Head of Cooperation Julien Lecas, GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah, and National Paralympic Committee President Samson Deen were present.

Athletes including Tahiru Haruna, Stacy Konadu Mensah, Zainabu Issah, Edmund Govina, and Joselle Mensah received commemorative tokens from the embassy. In return, the athletes gifted autographed jerseys as a symbol of gratitude for the French Embassy’s support.

During the event, officials praised the athletes for their determination and resilience, while also acknowledging the importance of continued investment in sports development to elevate Ghana’s future success on the global stage.
