GHALCA Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo Calls for GFA President Kurt Okraku’s Resignation Amid Black Stars’ Struggles

Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo, has urged Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku to step down following the Black Stars’ disappointing campaign in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

The national team faces the possibility of missing another Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Since Okraku assumed office, the Black Stars have experienced consecutive group stage eliminations in the 2021 and 2023 AFCON tournaments.

With only two points from four matches in the current qualification round, frustrations have grown among fans and football stakeholders. Fianoo, speaking on Akoma FM, emphasized, “Kurt Okraku should resign, or at least finish his second term and not seek a third.”

This sentiment mirrors the growing dissatisfaction with the GFA’s leadership, as calls for accountability and change increase amid the Black Stars’ declining continental performance.
