Ghana Midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana Reflects on “Painful” Draw Against Sudan in AFCON Qualifiers

Ghanaian international Ibrahim Sulemana has voiced his disappointment following the Black Stars’ goalless draw against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The four-time AFCON champions were held to a stalemate despite dominating the match at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, 2024.

Sulemana, who plays for Atalanta in Serie A, delivered a standout performance in midfield before being substituted in the 80th minute by Michael Baidoo. After the match, Sulemana took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration, saying, “Painful result. Still need your love and support.”

Ghana has struggled in the qualifiers, securing just two points from three games in Group F. With their AFCON 2025 hopes on the line, the team will need to improve significantly in their upcoming fixture against Sudan in Tripoli, Libya.
