Ghana’s Black Galaxies to Clash with Nigeria in 2024 CHAN Qualifiers

Ghana’s Black Galaxies will face their West African rivals, Nigeria, in the second round of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifiers this December. The draw took place at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

The first leg of the matchup is scheduled to occur in Ghana between December 20-22, 2024, while the return leg will take place in Nigeria from December 27-29, 2024.

In the previous edition of the CHAN tournament held in Algeria, Ghana eliminated Nigeria after a dramatic post-match penalty shootout, with the aggregate score tied at 2-2. The winner of this two-legged tie will secure a place in the CHAN 2024, set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year. The long-standing rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria adds an extra layer of excitement to this anticipated clash.
