In a highly anticipated Group F clash at the Accra Sports Stadium, Sudan and Ghana battled to a goalless draw on Thursday afternoon. Despite creating numerous chances in the second half, the Black Stars were unable to find the back of the net, leaving their home fans frustrated.
Sudan’s assistant coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu, commented on Ghana’s performance, stating, “It was hard luck on Ghana’s side,” acknowledging their struggles to capitalize on their scoring opportunities.
The teams will meet again on October 15, 2024, in Benina, Libya, where Sudan aims for a victory to enhance their chances of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
In the current Group F standings, Ghana is positioned third with two points from three matches, while Angola leads with six points (and has a game in hand against Niger). Sudan follows closely with four points, and Niger sits at the bottom with one point. The upcoming match between Angola and Niger tomorrow could further impact the group dynamics as the qualifiers progress.
