Former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka commended Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface for his standout performance in Bayer Leverkusen’s recent 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen. Boniface, who has been in impressive form this season, bounced back from a car accident to score the opener for Leverkusen in the 30th minute. Despite leading most of the game, Leverkusen conceded a late goal, resulting in a draw.
Xhaka acknowledged Boniface’s quality and his positive contributions to the pitch but stressed the importance of team effort. “We know that he has quality and makes the team better. Boni helped us with his goal, with good actions,” Xhaka shared. “But in the end, it’s not about individual players; we win and lose together.”
Leverkusen now trails Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich by five points.
