“He’s Selfish” – Mourinho Criticizes Fenerbahce’s Osayi-Samuel Despite Win over Bodrum FK

Jose Mourinho has criticized Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel for his selfish play during Fenerbahce’s 2-0 victory over Bodrum FK, as reported by Sportblog247.com. Despite the Super Eagles full-back featuring throughout the match, Mourinho was disappointed with a missed opportunity in the first half. Osayi-Samuel chose an ambitious finish instead of a simple pass, which Mourinho believes could have increased the scoreline in favor of Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce, whose goals came from Youssef En-Nesyri and Edin Džeko, dominated the game with 19 shots and four clear chances, ending a three-match winless run. Mourinho acknowledged the importance of the three points but felt that the team should have sealed the game earlier.

“We scored from a rebound, and Irfan Can Kahveci’s volley was impressive, but Osayi-Samuel was selfish. We missed the chance to put the game away in the first half,” Mourinho told Kontraspor.

With this win, Fenerbahce now sits third in the Super Lig, holding 20 points from nine games but trailing league leaders Galatasaray, who are five points ahead and set to play Besiktas.
