Kwesi Appiah made history as the first Ghanaian coach to defeat the Black Stars, leading Sudan to a 2-0 victory in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. This win not only brings Sudan closer to AFCON qualification but also highlights Appiah’s tactical strength. While Ghanaian coach Osam Duodu previously defeated the Black Starlets in 2005, Appiah’s achievement is the first against the senior national team. Appiah, who previously coached the Black Stars and led them to the 2014 World Cup, has turned Sudan’s fortunes around since taking charge.
