Former Black Starlets head coach Laryea Kingston has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Ghana football despite resigning from his role earlier this year.
Kingston stepped down as the head coach of the U-17 team in May after a disappointing performance at the WAFU B Cup of Nations, which resulted in their failure to qualify for the AFCON U-17 tournament. However, he remains passionate about supporting the national teams in the future, provided he receives the necessary backing.
In an interview with Joy Sports, Kingston expressed his eagerness to return to coaching whenever called upon, stating, “If Ghana calls upon me and provides the necessary support, I am ready to return and give back to my country because that is what we are all striving for.”
He also underscored the vital role of former players, like himself and C.K. Akonnor, in sharing their expertise to foster the growth of Ghanaian football. “C.K. has played and coached the game, so people like us are eager to contribute to the growth of our football now more than ever,” Kingston added.
