Newly-crowned UBO Africa super bantamweight champion, Samuel Martei Laryea, returned triumphantly to Akropong, where he secured his career-defining victory. Laryea presented his championship belt to Okuapehene, Nana Kwasi Akuffo III, as a gesture of gratitude for the opportunity that enabled his success. The Okuapehene, who sponsored the “Eastern Brawl” event during the Odwira festival, blessed the boxer, challenging him to aim for greater heights and surpass the achievements of legendary Azumah Nelson.

Accompanied by his trainer Smart Abbey and ACE Power Promotions’ CEO Isaac Amankwah, Laryea was warmly received. His dominant performance in a fifth-round TKO win over Nigerian boxer Lukman Akinolugbade, in front of his hometown fans, marked a significant milestone in his boxing career.
