Despite Barcelona’s interest and willingness to trigger his £58 million release clause, the transfer never materialized, and Williams remains focused on his current team.

Speaking to El Mundo, Williams expressed his happiness at staying with Bilbao, saying, “Bilbao is my home, and I want to continue enjoying it. The only thing that matters now is taking Athletic to the top in Spain and Europe.”

After a challenging preseason due to injury, Williams has scored once and provided one assist in nine appearances this season, determined to push Bilbao forward.
