Victor Osimhen has voiced his outrage over the poor treatment of the Super Eagles by Libyan authorities ahead of their 2025 AFCON qualifier. After their flight was diverted from Benghazi, the Nigerian team was left stranded at the airport, with no access to a hotel and forced to spend the night in uncomfortable conditions. Osimhen, sidelined due to injury, expressed his disappointment on Instagram, calling the situation “uncalled for and inhumane,” and urged CAF and other football authorities to intervene. Captain William Troost-Ekong has indicated the team’s intention to boycott the match, though no official statement has been made by the NFF or CAF about the game’s status.
