Otto Addo Confident Ahead of Sudan Clash Despite Key Injuries

Ghana coach Otto Addo has provided an optimistic update on the team’s preparations ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan.

Speaking on the team’s readiness, Addo shared, “Today, everybody [in camp] is training. So, I hope that everybody will be ready for tomorrow.”

However, the Black Stars will be missing several key players, including captain Thomas Partey, who is out due to illness, along with Joseph Paintsil, Ibrahim Osman, and Kingsley Schindler, all sidelined with injuries.

The upcoming match is vital for Ghana, who are seeking a win after a difficult start to their qualifying campaign. Following a 1-0 loss to Angola that ended their 24-year unbeaten streak at the Baba Yara Stadium and a late draw against Niger, the Black Stars sit in third place, making the matches against Sudan crucial to their hopes of qualifying for the AFCON tournament.
