Former Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has addressed rumours about rejecting the opportunity to manage Nigeria’s Super Eagles. Mosimane, currently managing Esteghlal FC, was linked to the Super Eagles coaching position after Jose Peseiro’s departure in February. However, Mosimane explained that no official offer was ever made.

“I never said no to the Super Eagles, and who could? Coaching them would have been an incredible opportunity,” Mosimane stated. “But the chance was never on the table.”

The Nigeria Football Federation ultimately appointed Finidi George as interim coach, who was later made permanent but dismissed after a month.
