Alidu Seidu, the Rennes defender, attributes his rise in professional football to the influence of both Ghanaian football legends and his personal hero, Sergio Ramos. Growing up in Ghana, Seidu admired national stars like Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, and Mubarak Wakaso, who inspired him to dream of representing the Black Stars.
In a recent interview with Sportblog247.com, Seidu shared how his admiration for Sergio Ramos shaped his aggressive playing style. He admitted, “I loved Sergio Ramos and wanted to be like him. When I played as a young boy, I would sometimes fight and kick people because the Spaniard was my role model.”
Seidu’s upbringing in a Zongo community in Ghana contributed to his intense approach on the pitch, but he is actively working on reducing his disciplinary issues. Despite picking up numerous yellow and red cards early in his career, Seidu remains determined to improve his game and emulate his football idols.
