Sevilla made urgent attempts to rescue Nigerian footballers Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho, who were stranded for over 13 hours at an abandoned airport in Libya. The Super Eagles, en route to an AFCON qualifying match, were left without food or drink, reportedly due to Libyan authorities’ grievances over a previous match in Nigeria. Sevilla sought alternative flights for their players, but the Nigerian government eventually resolved the issue, allowing the team to return to Nigeria before the players resumed training with their club.
