Boavista fullback Bruno Onyemaechi has humorously called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to create a special award for Libya after their defensive and time-wasting tactics nearly secured them a draw against Nigeria in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Uyo. Despite being outplayed for most of the game, Libya’s tactics frustrated the Super Eagles until an 86th-minute goal by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru secured a 1-0 win for Nigeria. Onyemaechi, impressed by Libya’s ability to stall the game, suggested that CAF should recognize their “crafty display.”
