Kenyan football is mourning the loss of one of its greats, Austin Oduor Origi, fondly known as “Makamu.” The former Gor Mahia FC captain and Kenyan international defender passed away, leaving behind a legacy that spans generations. “Makamu” captained Gor Mahia to their historic Mandela Cup victory in 1987, a moment etched in the club’s history. He was also the father of former Kenyan goalkeeper Arnold Origi, brother to Richard and Mike Okoth, and uncle to Belgian international Divock Origi.
