Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has cautioned that Nigeria’s upcoming AFCON qualifier against Libya will be challenging, with a hostile crowd awaiting them in Benghazi. Despite securing a narrow 1-0 win in their first meeting, Troost-Ekong acknowledged that Libya’s defensive approach made the game difficult and anticipates a fierce battle on Tuesday.
“We want to seal our AFCON qualification, but the crowd will be hostile. Libya will come out fighting, and we need to be more clinical to secure the win,” said the Super Eagles captain after the match.
Nigeria currently tops Group D with seven points, while Libya sits at the bottom with just one point.
