AC Milan Set to Pursue Napoli’s Victor Osimhen in Ambitious Summer Move

After a turbulent season with injuries and a subsequent loan to Galatasaray, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has become one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe. The 2022/2023 Serie A Champions, Napoli, have reportedly expressed interest in facilitating a potential move for Osimhen to AC Milan next summer.

Despite his stellar goal-scoring form in the Turkish Super Lig, where he’s quickly proven his worth at Galatasaray, the 25-year-old forward’s future seems destined for another big move. Osimhen, who renewed his contract with Napoli before heading out on loan, now has a lowered release clause of €75 million for clubs outside Italy, down from an initial €130 million, which many top European clubs found prohibitive.

AC Milan, long admirers of the Nigerian forward, had to opt for Tammy Abraham initially due to Osimhen’s high wages. However, with Abraham’s loan spell nearing its end, Milan is expected to ramp up efforts for Osimhen’s transfer. To make the deal more enticing, the Rossoneri may consider including their talented Portuguese winger, Rafael Leao, in a swap arrangement with Napoli.

This potential transfer is not without challenges. Interest from Chelsea and Galatasaray remains strong, and Osimhen himself has voiced his desire to one day play in the English Premier League. Nevertheless, a move to Milan could appeal to both player and club, with AC Milan eager to build a long-term relationship with Napoli.

As the summer window approaches, all eyes will be on Osimhen’s next steps as the Nigerian star’s journey unfolds.
