Arsenal to Discuss Thomas Partey’s Future as Contract Nears End

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up about plans to address Thomas Partey’s future at the club, emphasizing the 31-year-old Ghanaian midfielder’s recent resurgence and key contributions this season. Partey has already played 799 minutes in the Premier League, surpassing his total from last season, and has started 12 out of 13 matches, scoring once.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45 million and, despite occasional criticism, has won Arteta’s praise for his flexibility and strong performances. Arteta highlighted Partey’s recent form, saying, “The one thing we needed was Thomas to be at the level we wanted. He’s working hard, adapting to different positions, and coping excellently. He’s a big player for us, and he’s in a really good place.”

With his contract set to expire next summer, Arsenal’s initial plan to let it run out may now be reconsidered due to Partey’s recent impact. While Barcelona and Juventus have shown interest, Partey’s experience could prove vital for Arsenal’s ambitions in the 2025/26 season.
