Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has spoken highly of Thomas Partey’s ability to adapt to different roles, emphasizing the midfielder’s invaluable contributions as the team deals with injuries. The 31-year-old Ghanaian, originally a defensive midfielder, has shown versatility this season, even starting twice as a right-back in nine Premier League appearances.
Partey, whose contract expires this summer, has embraced the tactical shifts Arteta has called for, meeting the demands with poise. Arteta’s confidence in Partey’s performance remains strong, noting, “The one thing we needed was Thomas to be at the level we wanted.”
“He’s working hard and playing really well in different positions, adapting to various demands, and he’s coping excellently,” Arteta told reporters on Friday. Partey’s performances this season have reinforced his critical role within the squad.
Arteta also hinted that conversations regarding Partey’s future at Arsenal are on the horizon. “He’s a big player for us,” Arteta added, “He’s in a really good place, and we’ll have these discussions [about his future with Arsenal].”
