Rwanda upset Nigeria 2-1 as Chukwueze shines briefly for the Super Eagles.
Samuel Chukwueze has emerged as a transfer target for 16-time Turkish Super Lig champions Besiktas JK, following his standout performance for Nigeria in their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Despite opening the scoring for Augustine Eguavoen’s Super Eagles, Chukwueze’s joy was short-lived as Rwanda mounted a comeback to secure a 2-1 victory.
The 24-year-old AC Milan winger, who has struggled for consistent minutes in Serie A, caught the attention of Besiktas scouts with his explosive attacking display. According to Fotomac, the Turkish giants are now preparing an official bid to bring the Nigerian international to Istanbul during the January transfer window.
Chukwueze, renowned for his flair, pace, and creativity on the wing, is seen as a valuable addition to Besiktas’ offensive lineup. If the move materializes, he could reunite with close friend and Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray.
However, AC Milan may pose a hurdle to any deal, as Chukwueze remains a key backup option for Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao. Milan’s reluctance to part ways with the winger could complicate negotiations, but Besiktas remain determined to bolster their squad with his signature.
As January approaches, talks are expected to intensify, with Besiktas hopeful of securing a deal that could help Chukwueze reignite his career in the Turkish Super Lig.
