In a bid to solidify their commitment to Ghanaian football, officials from betPawa met with Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku on Tuesday. The meeting, held in Accra, brought together key figures, including Ntoudi Mouyelo Katoula, betPawa’s Managing Director for Africa, and Nii Armah Ashong-Katai, Regional Manager for Southern and Western Africa, to discuss future initiatives aimed at enhancing the country’s football scene.
The gathering marked the first in-person meeting after several online discussions, focused on shaping the partnership’s impact for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Among the main highlights were plans to introduce Locker Room Bonuses for Ghana Premier League players, expand this support to the Women’s FA Cup from the Round of 16, and push for the growth of local talent.
A major project under this partnership is the continued development of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, where betPawa is set to launch the second phase of its pitch project. This phase will include the addition of a spectator stand and dressing rooms, creating a more vibrant football environment for players and fans alike.
GFA President Simeon-Okraku expressed deep gratitude for betPawa’s unwavering support, emphasizing the company’s role in providing much-needed financial resources to local clubs and uplifting Ghanaian football. GFA officials, including General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo and Marketing Director Jamil Maraby, were also in attendance, reinforcing the association’s dedication to this partnership.
