Black Stars Begin AFCON 2025 Preparations with First Training Session as Angola Clash Nears

Ghana’s Black Stars Kick Off AFCON Qualifier Preparations with Eight Players in Initial Training

Ghana’s Black Stars have commenced preparations for their crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola with their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium. Head coach Otto Addo led the session, attended by eight players, including three local talents — Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Isaac Afful (Samartex), and Emmanuel Antwi (Asante Kotoko) — alongside foreign-based players Gideon Mensah, Mohammed Kudus, Elisha Owusu, Joseph Wollacott, and Osman Bukari.

Coach Addo anticipates more players arriving by Monday night to strengthen the squad ahead of the November 15 showdown in Luanda. The team will then face Niger on November 18 in Accra for their final qualifier. Currently third in Group F with two points, Ghana’s qualification hopes rely on winning both matches and Sudan losing their remaining games.
