The Black Stars are on their way to Luanda for a pivotal clash against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Scheduled for Friday, November 15, the game is a must-win as Ghana looks to keep its slim qualification hopes alive.
After opening camp on Monday, the team held its initial training session with just eight players. By Tuesday, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that 14 players had joined, with only Ebenezer Annan yet to report. The squad wrapped up its final training session in Accra on Tuesday evening and is set to depart for Luanda today. Upon arrival, the Black Stars will have one more practice session on Thursday in preparation for the match.
The team has faced some setbacks, with notable absences, including Thomas Partey, who was excluded by head coach Otto Addo, as well as withdrawals from Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Joseph Paintsil. Despite these challenges, the Black Stars are focused on the task ahead.
Ghana is currently third in Group F, with only two points from four games, trailing Angola and Sudan. To secure a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco, Ghana must win both of its remaining matches and hope Sudan loses to Niger and Angola.
Following the Angola game, the Black Stars will return to Accra to conclude their qualifiers against Niger on Monday, November 18, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
