Patrick Dorgu, Lecce’s versatile Danish-Nigerian left-back, has attracted significant interest from top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham. Known for his flexibility, Dorgu can play in multiple defensive and attacking roles, making him a highly sought-after asset in the upcoming transfer window.
According to transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Dorgu’s performances in Serie A have impressed scouts across Europe, sparking interest from Manchester United, who face defensive gaps due to Luke Shaw’s injury, and Tottenham, looking to add defensive depth. Chelsea also monitored Dorgu in the summer but couldn’t finalize a move.
Although Dorgu has made three appearances for Denmark, he remains eligible to represent Nigeria as he’s still an U21 player. In a memorable debut for Denmark, he scored just 47 seconds after coming off the bench in a Nations League game against Switzerland. The 20-year-old joined Lecce from the Nordsjælland academy in 2022 and has started ten Serie A games this season, scoring twice. His contract with Lecce extends through 2029.
