Ahead of Ghana’s critical final matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Dreams FC head coach Abdul Karim Zito has offered high praise for Black Stars’ head coach Otto Addo, highlighting his tactical acumen and disciplined approach.
In an interview with Citi Sports, Zito commended Addo’s uncompromising style, describing him as a coach who remains focused and undeterred in his vision. “What he wants to do is what he did,” Zito noted, underscoring the former Borussia Dortmund talent coach’s determination and rigor. He added that Addo’s discipline and tactical awareness make him well-suited to lead the Black Stars through challenging fixtures.
Reflecting on the hurdles local players face, Zito acknowledged the pressure of international standards. “In Europe, the level of play requires extra effort from our local players to meet those expectations,” he remarked, calling for resilience and added effort from Ghana’s home-based stars.
The Black Stars opened their training camp in Accra on Monday, preparing with a select group of players at the Accra Sports Stadium. With only two points in Group F, Ghana’s squad—currently third in their group—faces a tough path to Morocco. First, they’ll clash with Angola in Luanda on November 15, then return for a home game against Niger on November 18. Despite a rocky start, the team is determined to turn things around and secure their spot in the tournament.
