In a passionate address, former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has publicly criticized the GFA Executive Council for its perceived lack of visible support for President Kurt Okraku amid mounting criticism. Speaking on Asempa FM, Daara expressed disappointment in the council’s failure to publicly defend Okraku, who has been facing calls for his resignation due to the declining performance of Ghana’s national teams.
Daara, reflecting on previous administrations, drew a comparison to the days of Kwesi Nyantakyi, when prominent Executive Council members like George Afriyie, Osei Palmer, and Kojo Yankah were vocally supportive, particularly during challenges. He lamented the absence of such solidarity for Okraku, recalling that even during the Anas exposé—a challenging period for the GFA—the council members stood firm in unity.
“I am not impressed with how the Executive Council has supported Kurt Okraku and his administration,” Daara remarked, calling for a similar, unified approach to strengthen Okraku’s leadership. “Since the Black Stars’ last game against Sudan, I have not heard any member of the Executive Council come out to speak and defend the GFA, Kurt Okraku, and the product.”
