Ademola Lookman has continued his remarkable form in Serie A, becoming the league’s top contributor with sixteen goals and eleven assists this season. Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini commended Lookman, along with Charles De Ketelaere and Mario Retegui, for their strong performance in a decisive 3-0 win over Napoli.
Lookman’s first-half brace at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona set the tone, with Retegui adding the third goal off the bench—his 11th of the season. De Ketelaere played a key role as well, delivering two assists, which earned high praise from Gasperini. “We’ve grown in personality and technique. Lookman, De Ketelaere, and Retegui are on another level, and the others can reach it too,” Gasperini noted.
This dominant performance puts Atalanta third in Serie A, close behind Napoli and Inter. Gasperini expressed optimism about his team’s title hopes, highlighting contributions from new additions like Retegui, Kossounou, and Brescianini. With 31 goals in just 11 games, the Atalanta attack is proving to be one of the strongest in the league.
