First Vienna FC extended their dominance over Amstetten with a decisive 3-1 victory in Round 14 of the Austrian Bundesliga 2, thanks to a dazzling first-half hat trick by Ghanaian forward Kelvin Boateng.
The visitors wasted no time stamping their authority on the game. In the 5th minute, Boateng latched onto an incisive pass from Patrick Monschein, calmly slotting the ball past Amstetten goalkeeper David Gremsl to give Vienna an early lead. However, Amstetten responded immediately. Charles Herrmann took advantage of a defensive scramble in the Vienna box to level the score just two minutes later.
As the first half progressed, Boateng took center stage, delivering moments of brilliance. In the 39th minute, he converted a perfectly delivered cross from Mario Bumbic to restore Vienna’s lead. Just before the halftime whistle, Christoph Luxbacher’s determination in midfield created another chance, with Boateng rounding the keeper to complete his hat trick and seal the victory.
The second half saw a disciplined defensive performance from Vienna, shutting down Amstetten’s attempts to claw their way back into the game. The win marks Vienna’s fifth consecutive triumph over their rivals, cementing their superiority in this fixture.
Now sitting third in the league standings, First Vienna FC shifts focus to their next challenge against second-placed Ried on November 29th, with their promotion aspirations gaining momentum.
