Kelvin Ofori, the dynamic Ghanaian forward, stole the spotlight in Round 13 of the Slovakian Super Liga, earning a spot in Sofascore’s coveted Team of the Week. His stellar performance played a pivotal role in Spartak Trnava’s thrilling comeback win over Zemplin Michalovce.
The game, held at Anton Malatinsky Stadium, began on a rocky note for Spartak as their goalkeeper, Dobrivoj Vantrub, made an early slip that allowed Alexandros Kiziridis to score for Zemplin in the 11th minute. Despite the setback, Spartak Trnava regrouped, and their persistence paid off in the second half. In the 66th minute, Ofori connected with a precise cross from Mikovič, expertly heading in the equalizer to reignite Trnava’s attack.
The momentum shifted, and just seven minutes later, Philip Azango blasted a powerful shot into the net, giving Spartak the lead. Ofori wasn’t done yet, however; in the 88th minute, he curled a spectacular left-footed shot into the bottom corner, sealing a 3-1 victory and bringing his goal tally to an impressive six goals in nine league appearances.
With this win, Spartak Trnava extended their dominant head-to-head record against Zemplin, notching their 16th win in the series. Ofori’s performance solidified his reputation as a rising star in the league, with fans eagerly anticipating Spartak’s next game against Kormano on November 9.
