AC Milan’s talented youngster Kevin Zeroli made headlines this October, clinching the club’s Goal of the Month award. The 19-year-old Italian-Nigerian midfielder beat out first-team superstars including Samuel Chukwueze, Christian Pulisic, and Tijjani Reijnders, thanks to his unforgettable overhead kick in a 2-0 win over AC Perugia for Milan Futuro, Milan’s Serie C side.
The award-winning goal came 27 minutes into the game after a save by the Perugia goalkeeper presented Zeroli with a golden opportunity, which he seized with a spectacular acrobatic finish. His striking skill not only secured the victory but also caught the attention of fans and critics alike, showcasing the promising abilities of AC Milan’s Futuro captain.
Zeroli’s achievement is notable as it came against fierce competition; Chukwueze was nominated for his winning strike against Udinese, while Pulisic and Reijnders made the shortlist for their goals in Milan’s Champions League victory over Club Brugge, a match where Chukwueze also assisted Pulisic in breaking the deadlock.
Though born in Busto Arsizio in 2005, Zeroli has Nigerian roots through his mother and is eligible for both Italy and Nigeria. His recent rise to prominence in Milan is further evidenced by his Serie A debut against US Sassuolo in December 2023, a milestone that has since seen him make four appearances in Italy’s top division.
Zeroli’s journey with AC Milan is set to continue through the 2027-28 season, giving fans plenty of time to watch this promising midfielder grow on the Italian stage, and perhaps, in international competition as well.
