Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will miss the team’s upcoming trip to Ipswich Town as he recovers from a groin issue, manager Steve Cooper has confirmed. Issahaku’s absence was noticeable in Leicester’s recent Carabao Cup Fourth Round match, where the Foxes fell to Manchester United in a 5-2 defeat.
Reflecting on the loss, Cooper acknowledged the frustration but praised his team for channeling that energy positively during Thursday’s training session. “We’ve had a really good morning’s work,” he shared, emphasizing the importance of regrouping and motivating the squad for the Ipswich clash. Cooper explained that picking the right team to carry out their game plan would be crucial, especially with injuries impacting recent squad choices.
“Abdul was not available for the game last night through a groin [issue]. We had a few enforced changes,” Cooper stated, adding that just because certain players missed out on the last game doesn’t mean they’ll be excluded in upcoming matches. Issahaku, who has so far made nine Premier League appearances with two assists this season, will likely be a crucial player for the Foxes once fit.
Leicester City, currently 15th in the league with nine points from nine games, will look to bounce back and improve their position in the standings.
