Leicester’s Steve Cooper Backs Fatawu Issahaku for a Strong Comeback After ACL Injury

Leicester City and Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an ACL injury during Ghana’s AFCON 2025 qualifier against Angola. The 20-year-old underwent successful surgery but faces a six-month recovery period.

The injury comes as a significant blow to both Leicester City and the Black Stars, as Fatawu was enjoying a promising rise in his career. Leicester City boss Steve Cooper, however, remains positive about the young star’s future.

“We were enjoying being on his journey in the Premier League, and he was showing the potential he has. It’s only a pause,” Cooper said. “We’ll make sure, as difficult as this is for him, that he comes back stronger both as a player and a person. With the mentality he has, I think that’ll be the case.”

Fatawu had been on course for a breakout season following his stellar performances last year. His absence is a setback for Leicester, but the club has vowed to support him throughout his recovery process.

Fans from both Ghana and Leicester are rallying behind the winger, who has already demonstrated resilience and determination in his young career. While his road to recovery may be long, Fatawu Issahaku’s potential and spirit suggest he will return even better.

For now, the focus is on healing, with supporters eagerly awaiting the day Fatawu steps back onto the pitch.
