Obi Mikel’s Chelsea-Arsenal Combined XI Revealed Ahead of Premier League Showdown

Ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal’s highly anticipated Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has shared his ultimate combined XI from the two London giants. Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Mikel selected his lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation, blending talents from both sides as they vie for three crucial points in the title race.

With Arsenal aiming to strengthen their title aspirations and Chelsea looking to overturn their recent poor record in this fixture—having only one win in the last 10 meetings—the stakes are high. Mikel’s lineup reflects the form and quality of both squads.

For his XI, Mikel selected David Raya as the goalkeeper. Reece James secured the right-back position, while Arsenal’s William Saliba and Gabriel formed the center-back pairing. Marc Cucurella edged out Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori at left-back.

In midfield, Mikel paired Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo with Arsenal’s Declan Rice, creating a strong double-pivot. Cole Palmer was his choice as the creative playmaker in the No. 10 role, preferred over Arsenal’s captain, Martin Ødegaard.

For the attacking trio, Mikel opted for Bukayo Saka on the right wing, Gabriel Martinelli on the left, and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson leading the line as striker. This balanced lineup combines Chelsea’s physicality and Arsenal’s finesse in an electrifying setup that showcases the best of both teams.

Fans now wait to see how the actual squads will compare to Mikel’s lineup as they prepare for this fiercely competitive London derby.
