Bronx Boxing Promotions CEO and manager of WBO Africa Featherweight Champion, Sammy Anim Addo, is confident his fighter, John Laryea, will make a strong impression in his debut fight in the United States on Friday, November 1. Known as the “Expensive Boxer,” Laryea will take on Nicaragua’s Alexander Mejia in a featherweight matchup.
Mejia (19-9-0) has faced five consecutive losses, giving Laryea an opportunity to extend his opponent’s struggles. According to Anim Addo, Laryea—a two-time WBO Africa champion—is an underrated talent who has defied expectations to reach this milestone. He emphasized that a victory in this debut could open doors for other aspiring boxers training at the Bronx Boxing Club in James Town, Accra.
As Laryea and Coach Carl Lokko left Accra for Orlando, Florida, Bronx Boxing Club members, along with friends and supporters, wished him success in his American debut at the Caribe Royale venue.
