Promising young midfielder Samuel Rak-Sakyi marked his Chelsea debut in grand style, coming off the bench during an impressive 8-0 Europa Conference League triumph over FC Noah. Manager Enzo Maresca brought on the English-Ghanaian talent in the second half, giving the 19-year-old his first taste of senior football at Stamford Bridge.
Rak-Sakyi, the younger sibling of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who is currently on loan at Sheffield United from Crystal Palace, has been with Chelsea since he was eight, rising through the academy ranks. His standout performances for Chelsea’s U21 team earned him a contract extension until 2026, reflecting the club’s faith in his future. Under U21 coach Filipe Coelho, Rak-Sakyi has grown into a key figure, particularly after his return from a long-term injury. He re-entered the scene in spectacular form, netting a goal in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Anderlecht in the Premier League International Cup.
With his senior debut now in the books, Rak-Sakyi is eligible to play internationally for either England or Ghana, adding intrigue to his promising career path.
