Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has called for a thorough restructuring of the Black Stars management committee. His appeal follows the GFA’s recent decision to dissolve the committee, with plans to constitute a new one in the coming weeks.
Speaking to Joy News, Sannie Daara emphasized the need for a management team that not only brings expertise but also fosters unity within Ghana’s football community. He argued that persistent issues within the current framework necessitate change.
“I think there should be changes. The current management, as it is now, needs a revamp. A lot of things have changed—coaches, technical staff—yet some problems remain unresolved. If it’s not working, we need a fresh start with a management team that can serve as a uniting factor for the entire football family,” Daara stated.
The former GFA official defended the relevance of management committees but stressed that members must possess the right credentials and vision. His comments come amid lingering controversy over alleged financial improprieties, including reports of $100,000 appearance fees distributed to each committee member after the 2022 World Cup.
The football fraternity now awaits the GFA’s next move, hoping for a new committee that will prioritize transparency, cohesion, and progress for the Black Stars.
