Thomas Partey Poised for Return to Black Stars for Pivotal AFCON Qualifiers

After a frustrating absence in the last round of qualifiers, Thomas Partey is set to make his return to the Black Stars as Ghana eyes a crucial path to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Arsenal midfielder missed out on the doubleheader against Sudan last month due to medical concerns, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA). His absence left a gap in Ghana’s midfield, where Partey had previously captained in Andre Ayew’s stead.

Now back to full fitness, the 30-year-old’s presence could bring a much-needed boost as the Black Stars prepare for their final two Group F qualifiers against Angola and Niger. Ghana, currently in third place with two points from four games, faces Angola in Luanda on November 15 and returns to Accra to host Niger on November 18.

Ghana’s chances hinge on Sudan faltering in their final matches, potentially paving the way for the Black Stars to secure qualification. Coach Otto Addo is expected to announce the squad this week, and fans will be eagerly awaiting confirmation of Partey’s inclusion.
