Abdul Mumin Breaks Personal Scoring Record in Rayo Vallecano’s 3-3 Thriller Against Real Madrid

Rayo Vallecano defender Abdul Mumin achieved a personal milestone on Saturday, scoring his second goal of the season in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Real Madrid in La Liga. The Ghanaian international’s 36th-minute header from Isi Palazon’s pinpoint corner doubled Rayo’s lead and marked Mumin’s best scoring record in a single season.

The home side started strong, with Unai López opening the scoring in the 4th minute after a clever assist from Jorge de Frutos. Mumin’s towering header added to the advantage, leaving the home fans in high spirits.

However, Real Madrid fought back with a vengeance. Federico Valverde’s stunning 35-yard strike pulled one back before Jude Bellingham equalized with a powerful header just before halftime. Rodrygo then gave Madrid the lead in the 56th minute with a brilliant long-range effort.

Despite Madrid’s dominance, Rayo showed resilience, capitalizing on defensive lapses from Aurélien Tchouaméni and Lucas Vázquez to level the game late on. The match ended in a thrilling draw, with Mumin’s standout performance earning him plaudits.

With two goals in 15 appearances this season, Mumin has reached a career-high in scoring, highlighting his growing influence at both ends of the pitch.
