Falkirk winger’s brilliance secures vital win in Scottish Championship clash
Falkirk Stadium came alive on Saturday as Italian-born Ghanaian winger Alfie Agyemang delivered a masterclass, leading his side to an emphatic 3-0 victory over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship.
The game started with a bang, as Agyemang showcased his attacking prowess early on. In just the 6th minute, he latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Calvin Miller and coolly slotted the ball past Raith’s goalkeeper, setting the tone for the match.
Despite Raith’s attempts to fight back, Falkirk’s defense held firm, leaving the visitors frustrated. Agyemang wasn’t done, though. In the 57th minute, he doubled his tally with a stunning long-range strike. Picking up Brad Spencer’s assist, the 24-year-old unleashed a rocket that curled into the bottom right corner, drawing a thunderous cheer from the home fans.
Raith’s woes deepened nine minutes later when an unfortunate deflection off Kai Montagu turned a Falkirk cross into an own goal, sealing the visitors’ fate.
This win not only tipped the all-time head-to-head record between the two sides in Falkirk’s favor (13 wins to Raith’s 11) but also marked a turning point for Agyemang, whose two goals brought his season tally to three in 15 appearances.
With confidence soaring, Falkirk will now shift focus to their next match against Ayr United on December 14th, eager to continue their march up the table.
