Le Havre’s dismal run in Ligue 1 continues, with Ghanaian forward Andre Ayew admitting the club’s poor form has taken a toll on both the players and fans. The team’s latest setback, a 3-0 defeat to Strasbourg, has left them hovering in the relegation zone, sitting 17th on the table with just 12 points.
The loss sparked frustration among the home fans, who expressed their discontent with boos directed at the players. Speaking to the club’s media after the match, Ayew acknowledged the tough situation but emphasized the need for unity.
“It’s not easy to play at home and hear that or see the fans upset, but I understand their frustration,” Ayew said. “We give everything, and they give everything too. We’re all in this together, but we haven’t been able to deliver the results they deserve.”
Ayew called on the fans to stay behind the team during these trying times. “We need them now more than ever. I know they’re still with us, but in moments like this, their support is crucial. I promise we’ll fight to ensure Le Havre remains in Ligue 1 come May.”
Le Havre will aim to regain confidence with a French Cup clash against Stade Briochin before facing Olympique Marseille in their next league match.
