Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei delivered a crucial assist to help Schalke 04 secure a 1-1 draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf in a Bundesliga 2 clash at the VELTINS-Arena on Saturday.
The former Black Stars player was instrumental in Schalke’s fightback, starting the match and playing 73 minutes of high-intensity football. Despite a goalless first half, Fortuna Düsseldorf struck first in the 62nd minute through Dawid Kownacki, who capitalized on a Tim Oberdorf assist.
Refusing to back down, Schalke mounted a spirited response. Antwi-Adjei provided a decisive moment of brilliance in the 72nd minute, setting up Mali international Moussa Sylla to fire home the equalizer and salvage a point for the home side.
Antwi-Adjei, who joined Schalke 04 in the summer, has been a standout performer this season. With two assists in nine league appearances, the 30-year-old continues to prove his value as a key creative force for the team.
