“Dennis Odoi Shines with an Assist in Royal Antwerp’s Boxing Day Draw Against Genk”

Ghanaian defender Dennis Odoi Frimpong delivered a standout performance as Royal Antwerp played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against KRC Genk on Boxing Day.

Deployed in a midfield role at the Bosuilstadion, Odoi made an immediate impact, providing a precise assist for Gyrano Kerk’s opener just nine minutes into the match. However, Genk quickly equalized three minutes later through Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare.

Kerk restored Antwerp’s lead with his second goal in the 30th minute, only for Arokodare to strike again six minutes into the second half, securing the draw for Genk.

Odoi played the full 90 minutes, showcasing his versatility and experience. His compatriot, Christopher Bonsu Baah, also featured for Genk, coming on as a second-half substitute for Noah Adedeji-Sternberg.

Since joining Antwerp from Club Brugge in the summer, Odoi has become a crucial part of the squad. The veteran defender now boasts three assists in 13 league appearances this season, highlighting his consistent contributions to the Belgian side.
