In a move set to transform youth development in Ghana’s Upper West region, the newly inaugurated B.K. Adama Multipurpose Youth Resource Centre in Wa promises to be a game-changer. Officially commissioned on Tuesday by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, the centre is designed to address a critical gap in sports and skills development infrastructure in the region.
Speaking at the event, Ussif emphasized the centre’s holistic approach to youth empowerment. “This facility will not only boost and host sports activities but also serve as a hub for skills development, leadership training, and entrepreneurship. It is a beacon of hope for our youth, equipping them to excel in all areas of life,” he said.
The centre boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a football pitch, a 5,000-seater stand, basketball and volleyball courts, a lawn tennis court, and running tracks. These upgrades position the venue to host diverse sporting and community events while serving as a hub for personal and professional growth.
This initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to bridge the sports infrastructure gap nationwide. The ambitious project, initiated in 2018 under former Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah, involves constructing ten multi-purpose youth resource centres across the country.
With its multifaceted approach, the B.K. Adama Centre is poised to inspire and support the youth, fostering their potential across various domains.
