Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew admits Foxes could have done better in 3-1 loss at Anfield
Leicester City’s Jordan Ayew has shared his thoughts on his team’s performance following their 3-1 defeat to Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield. Despite giving the Foxes an early lead with a superbly executed goal, Ayew and his teammates were unable to hold off the Reds’ relentless attack.
Liverpool’s dominance in the second half led to a stunning comeback, leaving Leicester to rue missed opportunities and lapses in decision-making. Speaking after the match, Ayew acknowledged the team’s shortcomings but expressed optimism about their future.
“We need to adjust better. We started the second half not too well because they were on top of us,” Ayew said. “We could’ve made better decisions as a team, but we will learn from this key moment. Overall, I’m proud of the boys, the fighting spirit, the character, and the mentality. If we keep on like this, we’ll be fine in the league.”
Since joining Leicester City from Crystal Palace in the summer, Ayew has been in fine form, tallying five goals and one assist in 20 appearances across competitions. His contributions continue to boost Leicester’s efforts to compete in a highly challenging league season.
