Jordi Osei-Tutu Stars as Bolton Wanderers Outshine Huddersfield in EFL Trophy

In a thrilling night at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, Bolton Wanderers showcased their dominance, defeating Huddersfield Town 3-1 to secure a spot in the EFL Trophy Round of 16.

The match’s turning point came in the 40th minute when Jordi Osei-Tutu, the English-born Ghanaian defender, delivered a sublime cross. His pinpoint delivery was expertly headed home by Klaidi Lolos, giving Bolton a deserved lead. Huddersfield struggled to find a foothold as the hosts controlled the game with ease.

In the second half, Bolton’s relentless pressure paid off. Aaron Collins found the back of the net twice in quick succession. His first goal in the 83rd minute came from a clever assist by Dion Charles, while his second—just five minutes later—was a composed finish into the bottom corner.

Despite a late own goal by Josh Dacres-Cogley in the 90th minute, which gave Huddersfield a consolation, Bolton’s victory was never in doubt. The win narrows Huddersfield’s head-to-head advantage to 6-4, with two draws between the teams.

With confidence high, Bolton now shifts focus to their League One encounter against Wigan on December 14.
