Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil had a weekend to remember as he not only played a crucial role in LA Galaxy’s MLS Cup triumph but also thrilled fans with his musical talent during the team’s victory parade.
Paintsil was instrumental in LA Galaxy’s 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls in the 2024 MLS Cup final on Saturday. The Black Stars winger wasted no time, opening the scoring just nine minutes into the match. Four minutes later, teammate Dejan Joveljic doubled the lead, giving Galaxy a strong foothold in the game. Despite Sean Nealis pulling one back for the Red Bulls in the 28th minute, LA Galaxy held firm to clinch their record-setting sixth MLS Cup title.
Since joining the club from KRC Genk in February 2024 as a designated player, Paintsil has been a revelation, tallying 15 goals and 8 assists in 37 appearances this season. He continued his stellar form in the playoffs, adding four goals and an assist in just five matches.
The celebrations reached another level during the victory parade, where Paintsil showcased his artistic side by performing his new song, “Blessing.” Fans cheered as the talented winger serenaded the crowd, capping off a remarkable season both on and off the pitch.
