Ghanaian goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott delivered an outstanding performance on Tuesday night, guiding Crawley Town to a thrilling 2-1 victory against Charlton Athletic in an English League One encounter.
Wollacott, who has been a key figure for the Black Stars, earned his spot in Crawley Town’s starting lineup and justified his selection with several crucial saves throughout the game. From the onset, Crawley Town displayed determination against the favored hosts, taking the lead in the 33rd minute through Tola Showunmi, who converted a brilliant assist from Will Swan.
Charlton Athletic, however, fought back in the second half and equalized in the 68th minute with a goal from Daniel Kanu. Despite the pressure, Wollacott stood firm, denying Charlton multiple scoring opportunities.
The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Max Anderson found the back of the net, securing all three points for Crawley Town. The victory lifted Crawley out of the relegation zone, moving them to 19th position in the League One standings.
